NHE host Scott Murphy chats to director/producer Aaron Koontz about the meta-horror-comedy “Scare Package.” A film which is both a love letter to and a parody of your favourite 80s horror tropes.
In the interview (the interview begins at 2:01), we talk to Aaron about how he brought the film, and it’s roster of directors together. Aaron also talks to us about how he was initially trepidatious about doing an anthology feature, how he came up with the framework of the anthology and how he feels this is a film for horror fans by horror fans. Aaron and Scott also talk about the right and wrong way to do meta and why there is so much love for the 80s in popular culture now.
Plus, we talk to Aaron about his personal horror inspirations, his next film the horror-western “The Pale Door” and what other projects he is currently working on.
