NHE host Scott Murphy chats to writing/directing duo Gabriel Carrer & Reese Eveneshen about their new feature “For the Sake of Vicious.” A pulsating neon-tinged action horror which has made a big splash at various festivals since its premiere at Fantasia Fest.
In the interview (the interview begins at 1:44), we talk to Gabriel and Reese about why they decided to co-direct the picture after previously directing their own stuff, how difficult it was to achieve the movies gruesome effects and just how intense it was to shoot the films hyperkinetic fight sequences. Plus, how in the initial script was more action and less horror and how the film only got its Halloween setting at the last minute.
Elsewhere in the interview we get into their co-directing process and how they both felt they learnt filmmaking lessons from other throughout the shooting process. Also Reese talks about his editing process and Gabriel talks about how he came up with the 80s style synth-infused score for the film (under the name Foxgrndr).
