Episode 56 - Abe Goldfarb
/

NHE host Scott Murphy chats to writer/director/actor/voice over artist and burlesque MC Abe Goldfarb about his directorial debut “The Horror at Gallery Kay.” An unconventional Lovecratian tinged horror-drama which largely unfolds in a therapists office.

In the interview (the interview begins at 2:50), we talk to Abe about how the project developed, how he felt about diving into directing with a feature off the bat, and the intensity of shooting a feature in just eleven days. Plus, he talks to us about the influence of De Palma, how he balanced the roles of director, cinematographer and editor. And how being an actor himself helped him working with actors on set.

Away from “The Horror at Gallery Kay,” Abe tells us about how he got into filmmaking, his involvement with Beetlejuice the Musical, and how he got into horror as well as telling us about who some of his favourite horror filmmakers are.
